Explore the suits of the Minor Arcana and strengthen your tarot skills with Jezmina Von Thiele, coauthor of Secrets of Romani Fortune Telling and cohost of Immaterial World podcast.
The Minor Arcana of the Tarot represent daily life, practical matters, and situations, and each of the four suites have specific themes that help us make sense of the deck and our lives. In each two hour workshop, we will cover all of the Swords, Wands, Pentacles, or Cups, their interpretations, and how to integrate these cards into your magical practice. This is perfect for anyone who wants to deep dive into the tarot.
Jezmina is of mixed-Romani descent, and fortune telling is a multi-generational family trade taught to by their grandmother. The class will also cover how the persecution of Roma, an Indian diasporic ethnic group also known by the racial slur "Gypsies," have shaped the culture's practice of and relationship to fortune telling, and the popularization of tarot and cartomancy in the West.
You will receive an emailed PDF after the class with notes, so note taking is encouraged if it’s helpful to you, but it’s optional. Make sure to bring a tarot deck, notebook, and pen. If you don’t already have a deck, there may be a few extras for the class, or you can purchase one at the shop. While it is encouraged to take all four parts, it is not required.
This class will take place in the Deadwick's Common Room. It will begin promptly at 6pm and will run approximately two hours. Please allow time for parking, and enter through Deadwick’s front entrance at 19 Sheafe Street. Please call us at 603-319-6946 if you are running late.
