Winter Warding: Threshold Charms for Protection and Prosperity with Juniper Deadwick
Tuesday, December 9th at 6pm
$50 per person
The door to your home is a not just physical entryway, or barrier, but a spiritual portal. Folk magic has long used threshold spells and charms to keep illness, intruders, and negativity at bay. Many of these—such as wreaths, boughs, and bells—have become common practice outside the magical community. Protection and prosperity magic often go hand in hand during the winter season, as we seek to manifest blessings in an otherwise barren landscape.
In this workshop, you will craft a door charm using natural elements (such as wood, evergreen, stones, and seasonal spices and crops), bells, ribbon, twine, and any other magical elements you wish to personally incorporate. Once completed, your charm may be hung over the threshold of your home or business for the winter season.
Juniper Deadwick is a hedge witch with a passion for folk magic and lore. Hearth craft, with an emphasis on protection and prosperity, is her most practiced form of magic. She loves calling upon the spirits of plants, animal allies, the dead, and otherworldly beings, in both ritual and day-to-day.
Workshops will take place in the Deadwick's Common Room. They run approximately an hour to an hour and a half. Please enter through the front of Deadwick's upon arrival, at 19 Sheafe St. and allow time for parking. Please call ahead if you are running late. (603-319-6946)
